I have a schema document that I want to build an XML document for... is there any way to generate an XML document with no data just show me the document?

You can either use File > Document Wizards... > XML Schema to XML, or open the XML Schema, right click on the root element, and choose "View XML Sample".

There are options controlling the generated XML instance, reachable through Tools > Options > XML Schema Editor > XML Schema to XML
