Monte HansenSubject: SS XSL Processor Bug: Count()
Author: Monte Hansen
Date: 05 Jun 2007 04:59 AM
I mistakenly entered this expression "count( //My/Node/Path != 0 )" on an xsl:if and SS was happy with it. This expression doesn't result in a node-set and so SS should complain.

Hi Monte,
I tried running this stylesheet

<?xml version='1.0'?>
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">

<xsl:template match="/">
<xsl:if test="count(//page-sequence !=0)"/>
</xsl:template>

</xsl:stylesheet>

and it reports this error

---------------------------

---------------------------
Value of expression cannot be converted to a node-set in expression
URL: file:///c:/testcase/src.xsl
Line:5
Col: 2

Which version are you using?

Also, which XSLT engine? Are you sure you are using the
internal engine? Please check the scenario properties.

Hi Monte,
could you post a complete testcase (XSLT + XML)? If you prefer to keep it private, send it to stylus-field-report@progress.com.

Thanks,
Alberto
