Lori NapoliSubject: Generating XSD from XML - global vs local elements
Author: Lori Napoli

When you generate XSD from XML, is there an option to state that you want the elements to be generated locally instead of globally? The default seems to be for the elements to be generated globally and then references inserted for these elements. Please advise how to control the global vs local setting. Thanks

Lori

Hi Lori,
unfortunately that option is not available, and you will have to manually change the generated schema from within the schema editor (e.g. right click on an element definition and pick QuickEdit -> Make Type Local)

Hope this helps,
Alberto

The only options I see under QuickEdit are Extend Element Type and Restrict Element type. How do I get to the Make local option?

Thanks
Lori
