Hi I'm new to xslt (just learning as part of a Uni corsework).

I'm having difficulty outputing a £ symbol I've read loads of forms etc but nothing seems to work.

the cose is like this :
...
<xsl:value-of select="concat('Price: £',/price)"/>
....

Can anybody help.

Thanks

Hi Rob,
you need to ensure that the encoding of the output file allows such character: which one are you using?

I'm outpting xhtml. I've tried all the options I can find in books and on the net and normally get - £ or other variations.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Rob,
I was not talking about the output method (i.e. xml, xhtml, html, etc..) but about the output *encoding* (i.e. utf-8, iso-8859-1, etc..). The fact that you see £ in the output means that you are generating utf-8, and maybe your browser doesn't detect it properly. Try forcing your browser to interpret the page as utf-8, or change the output encoding of the stylesheet to be iso-8859-1 (switch to the Params/Other tab and pick ISO-8859-1 from the Output Encoding combo box).

Hope this helps,
Alberto
