Dear Sir/Madam,

How to display French date in excel 97 using XSLT?

I am using XSLT 1.0.Our project backend is oracle.

French date out put displayed in Microsoft EXCEL 97.

I saw function format-date in XSLT 2.0. Is it possible to use that function in XSLT 1.0?

Please give suggestion.

Unfortunately there is no such a function in the XSLT 1.0 specs; you will have to resort to an extension function like the one that ships with the examples of Stylus Studio (see the javaExtension folder), or to a named template like the one created by Jeni Tennison (http://www.exslt.org/date/functions/format-date/date.format-date.template.xsl).

Hope this helps,
Alberto
