James HaskellSubject: Convert to XML
Author: James Haskell

We need to convert orders received from our customers to a standard XML format. We are looking at DataWatch's VorteXML and Stylus, for example. Attached is a sample order. The XML output should contain the order master info (customer number, ship and bill to addresses, etc), and then each order line (part no, qty, price, etc).

After watching the "Intro to Convert to XML" demo on your web site, I can see how this could be easily done with Stylus Studio.

But I don't understand how this can be reliably automated. We need a "system" that will monitor an incoming FTP directory, and automatically convert and archive all incoming files.

How could this be accomplished using your tools?
