Hi All,

I am using XSLT to transform existing xml into new xml tags.
Currently the generated files has 70,000 transformed records .
What I want to do is split the huge file into sets of smaller files.

I am currently calling this XSLT from Java where in I use JAXP.

Do let me know your suggestions how to go about the same.

You have several options,
1. Create an XSLT stylesheet with multiple outputs.
There is usually an extension element which allows this. You can then rename the file if necessary in Java.

eg. in Xalan:
xmlns:xsltc="http://xml.apache.org/xalan/xsltc"
<xsltc:output file="secondFile.xml">
...

in XSLT 2.0:
<xsl:result-document href="secondFile.xml">
...

2. You could create multiple XSLT files and run multiple passes on your source XML. This is cleaner in terms of maintenance, but may take longer when processing.
