Brian ShepherdSubject: Can't get catalog to work
Author: Brian Shepherd
Date: 05 Dec 2006 12:06 PM
I have an xsl file with following code snippet:

<xsl:stylesheet version="2.0" xmlns:xsl=http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform
xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
xmlns:math=http://exslt.org/math
xmlns:casper="http://www.ngc.com" exclude-result-prefixes="#all">

<xsl:import href="xslt/common-functions.xsl"/>

I have added a catalog to my project with code snippet:

?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE catalog PUBLIC "-//OASIS//DTD Entity Resolution XML Catalog V1.0//EN"
"http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/entity/release/1.0/catalog.dtd">
<catalog xmlns="urn:oasis:names:tc:entity:xmlns:xml:catalog">

<rewriteURI
uriStartString="xslt"
rewritePrefix="C:/development/xslt" />

File is located at c:/development/xslt/common-functions.xsl

Error I get is XTSE0165:java.io.FileNotFoundException: c:\development\xslt\xslt\common-functions.xsl (The system cannot find the path specified);

Is there something else I have to change to get the catalog to resolve to the proper path? This catalog works fine in my java code, however, I want to be able to debug the xslt.

Thanks in advance.

Brian,

It seems like that the problem is related to the import statement

<xsl:import href="xslt/common-functions.xsl"/>

try changing to

<xsl:import href="common-functions.xsl"/>

I have done that for over 20 files that are referenced through all the imports and that does solve the issues so Stylus can debug the xslt. However, we use the catalog mechanism during the application run with the prefix xslt and all works fine. If I can not get Stylus to use the catalog as it is used in our application, Stylus does me no good. Do I need to do anything else besides adding the catalog to the project? How can I tell if the catalog is being referenced?

Thanks, Brian
