Jammy PacSubject: Cannot find base type and Cannot find referenced symbol
Author: Jammy Pac

Hi Stylus Studio Developers,

I am getting an error message box that states "Cannot find base type" when I click to expand a node in the diagram view. The node is an XMLSchema redefine with a schemaLocation attribute.

Stylus finds the referenced Schema; In tree view I can right click the redefine and click "Open Referenced Schema".

I receive a similar error of "Cannot find referenced symbol" for elements using the "ref" attribute.

I am using Stylus Studio Pro 3, build 653g.

Any ideas what is causing these errors?

Thanks,
Jammy

I should also mention that under the properties the "Base Type" property's drop down populates with the correct values. Similarly the drop down for the element Reference property populates correctly.

Jammy,

Try to force the Schema editor to load all schemas, click
Diagram -> Load All Schemas

Hope this helps

No Luck. :(

The schemas already show up in the reference schema drop down on the top of the diagram page.

I think I might be figuring out the problem. I am trying to redefine a type that is in a default namespace to a type in a defined namespace.

Does that make sense?

Hi Sebastian,

We were in the process of consolidating our namespaces. After the namespaces were consolidated the problem went away. So in short, the problem never was fixed while we had many namespaces.

There may be hope. I just got the following email:

Yep, we can reproduce it, and we are working on it.
Thanks,
