In an effort to find a decent environment to develop XForms, the first step is to be able to work in xhtml with multiple schemas. I first started with a simple xhtml example that had a doctype. This validated with Stylus Studio. I then added the schemas that are required for XForms. My 50 error messages seemed to all refer to Stylus Studio libraries. I also tested this both xhtml documents with XMLSpy, which produced an entirely different, error message, which will as usual only have a meaning after the problem has been solved.
The first few Stylus Studio error messages were:
Validating Xform_Test.html...
file:///c:/Program Files/Stylus Studio XML Professional Edition/bin//Catalogs/java.sun.com/datatypes.dtd:99,7: warning: Attribute 'id' has already been declared for element 'xs:simpleType'
file:///c:/Program Files/Stylus Studio XML Professional Edition/bin//Catalogs/java.sun.com/datatypes.dtd:122,7: warning: Attribute 'id' has already been declared for element 'xs:list'
file:///c:/Program Files/Stylus Studio XML Professional Edition/bin//Catalogs/java.sun.com/datatypes.dtd:130,7: warning: Attribute 'id' has already been declared for element 'xs:union'
Too many errors: validation canceled
The XML document Xform_Test.html is NOT valid (50 errors)
P.S. Besides your error messages usually being meaningful, this report is much more user friendly than that of your competitor's
You are trying to validate a "compound" document (XHTML + XForm) using two schemata.
The problem is that xhtml1-strict.dtd describes XHTML but doesn't know anything about XForm and XForms-Schema.xsd describes an XForm but doesn't know anything about XHTML.
I believe you will need to use a special tool for this task.
