Richard PottsSubject: remove commas, single quotes, double quotes
Author: Richard Potts

I wish to remove all commas(,) all single quotes (') and all double quotes (") from a string. I've been trying to use the 'translate' function, by replacing these characters with 'nothing' i.e. an empty string. e.g.

<xsl:value-of select="translate($Description,''",','')"></xsl:value-of>

but when I run it I get a SS message "Expected ) in value-of". I'm using the built in processor. - I think it's getting confused with the 'quotes' but having difficulty getting round it.

Thanks in advance.

I fixed it! (I think)- using a variable:

<xsl:variable name="Remove">",'</xsl:variable>
<xsl:value-of select="translate($Description,$Remove,'')"></xsl:value-of>

I would be interested in different solutions. Cheers.
