Hello,

After every few working runs of the Stylus generated Java Code, I get the following message:

<!-- Checking the Stylus Studio license. -->
Exception in thread "main" java.io.IOException: java.lang.RuntimeException:
Unable to verify evaluation expiration date, IOException:
java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect
You are not licensed to use the StylusFileFactory API.

What can I do to prevent it from timing out?

As the message states you have unlocked the API using an evaluation key. In evolution mode the library pings our servers to verify the license.

To deploy your application you will need to purchase a run-time license.

Please contact our Sales Team for additional information.

Hope this helps

I do have a license and registered the product, as it does work most of the time. Just after every few runs, it gives me that error.

I registered the product based on the downloaded version. Under Help->About, it says it is an unlimited version.

I am going to uninstall the product, and install it again through the CD to see if it makes a difference.

If you have a Stylus Studio Enterprise license, that entitles you to use the XML adapters from inside the Stylus Studio UI. But you cannot do that from your Java application, other than for testing/development purposes. So, the API sometimes tries to verify its license state, and if it cannot connect to the activation server, it will abort the execution.

If you want to deploy Java applications that rely on the XML adapters, you need XML adapter licenses, which are separate from the Stylus Studio Enterprise ones. As Ivan suggested, you should contact our Sales Team.

Oh ok, now, I understand.

Thanks.
