Steve SingerSubject: XSL -- Trim blanks from a variable
Author: Steve Singer

I have a variable, but it has blanks at the end of it (such as "VAR "). I want to use the variable to build a link based on the name, but when I build the link, the blanks are still there (for example, "http:\\www.web.com\VAR .html").

The obvious solution is to simply trim the blanks. What's not so obvious (to me, at least) is how to do that. Is there some way in XSL to trim blanks from the end of a variable? It's probably simple, but I can't seem to find anything about how to do it!

Use the XPath function normalize-space()

Hope this helps
