Brian McGeeSubject: Using Adapters
Author: Brian McGee

I have a requirement to transform text files to XML in a live environment, and I downloaded the trial version of Stylus Studio to see if it would do what I need.

As it turns out, it does - so I decided to purchase a license - which is about $800. But when I read further it mentions that to use the adapters I have to buy the deployment license which costs an additional $1000.

Have I misunderstood, or do I really have to pay $1800 to have one adapter sitting on one machine in a live environment?

Hi Brian,

To deploy your application based on the Stylus Studio Adapter library you just need the adapters license.

For more details please contact our sales department at

Hope this helps

Hi

The email address in your reply does not work, even when I correct the spelling mistake.

I'm not fully sure I understand.

I need to be able to create new .conv files occasionally, and I need to put them on a server to convert files.

If I buy the adapters license for this server for $1000, can I also continue to create new conv files on my own PC?

Or do I need to buy another $800 license just to do that bit?

Try again; the email address is stylusstudio@stylusstudio.com
and it should go right through to the people who handle these
questions.

Just out of curiousity, when you said the email address
didn't work, what reply did you get back? Could you forward
that error email to stylus-field-report@progress.com?
