Lorrie NerbasSubject: Bitmap Graphic Problem
Author: Lorrie Nerbas

I have a bitmap image that I am using in my xslt page. How can I set the background of the image to be transparent so the gradient fill of the background shows, instead of the white, as it currently is. I tried setting the background of the image to the gradient fill using the IE filter property and this did not work.

Thank-you for your assistance.

Usually the easiest way to get transparency is not to mess
with the filter property, but to use a GIF89 or PNG image
format.
For GIF, you need to use GIF89 and choose a pixel color to be
'transparent' in your drawing program.
For PNG, you can use the alpha channel.
