Alexander BockSubject: Poor Database Support
Author: Alexander Bock

Hello,
i evaluated Stylus Studio and i had problems to connect to other databases like postgres via ODBC and the obscure sequelink driver. Where is the problem to provide a jdbc interface or to use the jdbc-odbc bridge?

Regards,
Alexander

Hi Alexander,

Thank You for your feedback.

Stylus Studio bundles two DataDirect products to access relational databases as XML: "Connect For SQL/XML" and DataDirect XQuery.

Both products rely on specific driver capabilities that can not be guarantied to exists in a third party driver.

We understand that Sequelink may be an additional burden to configure but at the same time provides a safe level of isolation between the engine and third-party driver.

Hope this helps
