David KarrSubject: Xquery appears to be stuck in "Processing paused" state
Author: David Karr

I have an Xquery, which is basically a copy of the "PARTS-Q1.xquery"
example. I've been able to test it in the debugger, and at one time I
was able to click the "Preview Result" button, and both paths produce
reasonable output.

Now, for some reason, the "Preview Result" button is insensitive,
clicking the "Start Debugging" icon does nothing, and the status line
says "Processing paused". It's like it thinks it's in the middle of a
debugging session. The other "debugging" icons are insensitive (like
"Stop Debugging"), however.

I tried opening a separate copy of the "PARTS-Q1.xquery" example from
the examples directory, and it is not displaying this symptom.

I also see that I can't even exit Stylus Studio now, as it says "The
document is being debugged, and cannot be closed now." It won't even
let me close the document. I think I'll have to kill the process.

Clearly Stylus Studio believes to be still running/debugging that XQuery. Is that a behavior you can reproduce (I mean, starting from a clean Stylus Studio instance)?

Thanks,
Minollo

I'll try, but it doesn't look to be easy. I was working with several
different file types during that session, just stepping through most of
the features of the tool, and also editing some of the same files in
competing tools. I'm not certain exactly when it got into that state.
I'll continue to experiment.
