Subject:
XML Schema to XML Schema Translation
Author:

I am trying to do a translation.
Basically I have 1 XML Schema, which is an early version for my game.
I have another XML Schema which is an updated version for my game.
I would like to be able to check The Old Schema Against the new Schema, and match up what is the same.
In the case that they are not the same, I would like to provide a way to insert a value eg:
R1.0 becomes R1
Any ideas how I would go about this?

The mapper from Stylus Studio can be your best friend.
If you load the old schema on the left and the new one
on the right, you can literally draw lines for the
corresponding elements, and the XSLT or XQuery code to
do the work will be written for you. You can also
add functions in the middle, and insert literal values
where they are needed.
