Shane GarringerSubject: Auto Mapping?
Author: Shane Garringer

Ok, I have been sitting here for hours, manually mapping from one very large schema to another. These schems are identical. Using other products I have seen that they have an auto mapping feature. Please tell me if this one does as well. This product defenitely outways the competiotrs, but without this feature, I can't be devoting this many hours to something that should be automated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stylus Studio doesn't have an auto-map feature; in the past we have experienced that in many cases auto-maps create more trouble in "fixing" wrongful assumptions then in the benefits they provide.

That said, it is in the plans to add that feature in the future. Also, if your mapping is better described as "mostly copying", maybe an approach similar to what mentioned in http://www.stylusstudio.com/ssdn/default.asp?action=9&read=4515&fid=57 might help (both in terms of using copy links and in terms of leveraging the XSLT template matching power).
