Doug DomenySubject: After installing VS 2005, .NET Processor throws exception in SS
Author: Doug Domeny

When running an XSL transform with the MS .NET Processor, an exception message appears in a message box (see attached image).

The error is "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

This occurs regardless of the XSLT. Other processor, namely 'built in' and MS XML 4.0, run normally.

This error occurs since installing Visual Studio 2005.

What is needed to support the new version of the .NET processor?

I have Stylus Studio 5.3, build 179l

Thanks for the quick reply.

The struzzo.exe.config file solved the problem.

When will Stylus Studio support .NET 2.0 (ie, MS XML 6.0)?

Some of the XSLTs I write are run on more than one processor. For example, the MS XML 4.0, .NET and now .NET 2.0. The ability to select a processor in Stylus Studio is very important. Sometimes the XSLT will output as expected in one processor, but be different in another processor. Using several processors in SS saves time having to check the output in the different environments.

Doug,

We agree that the ability to quickly try several different processors
is a very valuable feature of Stylus Studio. Thanks for your support :)
