Balaji AkulaSubject: XSLT compilation
Author: Balaji Akula

Hello - is there a way to compile an XSLT and use it in .NET 2.0? The main reason behind this is to improve performance. I believe Stylus products can compile XSLT's but is directed towards Java. Thanks

Someone else might address how you can do this, but one important thing
to consider: Don't immediately assume that generated code will be faster
than XSLT. XSLT processors are often pretty well optimized. If you do
figure out how to generate code for it, build some timing tests to
compare the results.

Balaji

If the target platform is .NET Framework 2.0 have alook to System.Xml.Xsl.XslCompiledTransform

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/library/ms163414(en-us,vs.80).aspx

Hope this helps

Thanks. I did look into the XslCompiledTransform class and based on my performance test results i was looking at ways to precompile the XSLT. Anyway thanks once again
