jeff hartmanSubject: running xslt from a bat file
Author: jeff hartman

I am a real rookie and am trying the evaluation home program.

I believe that what I am attempting to do would be rather simple, but I am missing something. I need to read a .xml file that contains fields with (-) dashes in them. I need to translate those field names to contain (_) underscores instead of the dashes.

I have mapped each field from fields in file "testin.xml" to the like fields in file "testout.inx" and saved the program/utility as test1.xsl.

I need to run this xsl from within a COBOL program and am trying to to that by running a .bat file that has the following code.

\c:\program files\stylus studio 6 xml home edition\bin\stylusXslt -out \jahtemp\testin.xml -in \jahtemp\testout.inx \jahtemp\test1.xsl

I get this message - The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

Thanks in advance.

Jeff,

Your problem is simply the syntax of the command in the .bat file.
Whenever the pathname of an .exe file contains embedded blanks, you
need to enclose it in quotes:

"c:\program files\stylus studio 6 xml home edition\bin\stylusXslt" -out \jahtemp\testin.xml -in \jahtemp\testout.inx \jahtemp\test1.xsl
