Marius EnacheSubject: Run XQuery on XMLDB databases
Author: Marius Enache

Hi.

I'm new to Stylus and I have a question: can I run an XQuery against an XMLDB data source (eXist in my case). And if it can be done, how do I do that. Please notice that eXist has a few extensions for XQuery.

Hi Marius,
Stylus can execute queries against a number of DBMS-enabled XQuery processors, namely DataDirect XQuery, MarkLogic and TigerLogic; however it doesn't support eXist. The suggested way to work with eXist is to access the documents in the database using WebDAV, and query it using the HTTP or the SOAP client.

Hope this helps,
Alberto
