Pete MullenSubject: Adding a Node to DTD target side of map
Author: Pete Mullen
Date: 25 Aug 2005 01:00 PM
Is there a way to add a node or element to the target side of the map
from a drop down box or list that shows the element or node in the DTD schema?

When I click on "add element" , a blank text box appears.

Thanks,

Pete .

If you have already assigned a DTD to the target pane, then the tree structure you see is the tree structure defined by the DTD; any addition of "nodes", elements or attributes, is just something more that you may be manually definining, but it cannot be controlled/suggested by the DTD, as the DTD itself is already being displayed.

Or am I misunderstanding what you are asking?

I belive the original DTD that was loaded into the target pane had the nodes or elements I am talking about. Once a node or element is removed, can it be loaded back in without manually typing it in a text box window?

You can't remove nodes defined in the XML Schema/DTD used to populate the source or target panes. You can only remove (or add) "additional" nodes that you manually create. Schema nodes are marked in blue; manual nodes are red.

Note that if you open an XSLT with a default input set and you switch to mapper, mapper will try to infer the target nodes/structure and use "red nodes"; only in the moment in which you assign a DTD to the target pane the nodes become blue and non removable.
