This should look like this, i don't know why the board software removes my newlines when editing a post.

Hi,

i have a question regarding the editzor component of Stylus Studio.

When i write a XML document, i often indent the tags manually by pressing the tab key.<br>

If i write
<a>
<b>
and press Enter the cursor is positioned below the < of "<b>". I press Enter again, a new line is added and the cursor is still positioned below the < of "<b>". But the line directly under the <b> is empty now. After pressing Enter for the first time, the editor has removed the Tab character.

Why does this happen?

Kind regards
Simon

Hi Simon,
when you press Enter on a line that is indented, the editor automatically indents the new line; but that space is virtual, as it is not really entered as text. It will be "real" only when you start typing something on that line.

Hope this helps,
Alberto

Hi Alberto,

this explains the behaviour, but it doesn't help me very much :-( It would be great if this could be configured in the editor settings.

Hi Simon,
this is the behaviour that other editors exhibit, so we never thought about allowing the user to change it. I am entering this request in our database for the next major release of Stylus.

Thanks,
Alberto
