WHAT: Join Jonathan Bruce, XQuery Evangelist at DataDirect Technologies, as he presents The Promise of XQuery, an introduction to XQuery and the XQuery API for Java™ (XQJ). As XQuery moves closer to becoming a W3C recommendation, developers are eagerly looking to take advantage of its ability to dramatically simplify and accelerate data integration and query XML. Previously JDBC Specification Lead and Architect at Sun Microsystems, Jonathan will focus on the exciting opportunities that a formal XML query language presents for Java and for JDBC/SQL developers who want to evolve their applications to leverage the growing set of XML data sources.
Jonathan will provide examples using DataDirect XQuery™, the first embeddable component for XQuery that implements the early draft review of the XQuery API for Java™ (XQJ) standard and Stylus Studio®, the industry's most innovative XML IDE for advanced XML data integration providing advanced support for XML and its related technologies: XSL, XSLT, XML Schema, DTD, SOAP, WSDL, SQL/XML, XML mapping and XQuery.
