I have downloaded a trial version of the XML Professional. This is what I need it to do and i'm not sure how to do it. I need to open an existing document, which in this case is going to be a text file, and each field in the file is separated with a '|'. I take this file and run an Excel macro that pulls the text file from a server and places it into Excel. After I open the text file I need to be able to load a XML schema file that I have created and associate the fields in the schema with fields in the txt file. After this has been done I need to create the XML file. Can someone tell me step by step how I need to go about doing this? I have been trying for over an hour without any luck. Please help. Thank you.

Hi Kristina,
if Excel can be removed from the loop, here is what I would do:
- create a new "XSLT Mapper" document
- click on "Add Source Document"
- select the flat file you want to process, check the "Convert to XML using adapter"
checkbox and press OK
- in the "Select XML Converter" dialog, select on the left the converter
named "Comma-separated values"
- on the right pane you will see its properties: change the "Separator" from
"," to "|"
- click OK
- click on "Set Target Document"
- select the XML Schema that models the final XML document
- at this point, drag the fields from the left tree to the right tree, and
the XSL stylesheet will be built for you
- click on the green arrow to preview the transformation

Hope this helps,
Alberto
