chris bushnellSubject: XSL overide main stylesheet
Author: chris bushnell
Date: 07 Mar 2005 07:53 AM
I am working on an xsl page where I am trying to overide the main css stylesheet for bold, itlaic, underline and bullets.
I am doing this by using apply templates and putting a smaller template at the bottom of the document to link to using template: match.
I have already done this using xsl:fo for PDF output but I now wnaat to do the same to create HTML output but I am not sure what to replace the xsl:fo tags with if I am outputting to HTML.
For bold, Italic etc 'span' tags seem to work ok but the ul (bullets) seem more complicated.
See code below:-

<xsl:template match="ol|ul">
<fo:list-block space-before="10pt">
<xsl:apply-templates/>
</fo:list-block>
</xsl:template>

<xsl:template match="ol/li">
<fo:list-item start-indent=".5in">
<fo:list-item-label start-indent=".25in" space-before="4pt">
<fo:block space-before.conditionality="discard" font-family="sans-serif" font-size="10pt">
<xsl:number format="1."/>
</fo:block>
</fo:list-item-label>
<fo:list-item-body>
<fo:block space-before.conditionality="discard" font-family="sans-serif" font-size="10pt"><xsl:apply-templates/></fo:block>
</fo:list-item-body>
</fo:list-item>
</xsl:template>

<xsl:template match="ul/li">
<fo:list-item start-indent=".5in">
<fo:list-item-label start-indent=".25in" space-before="4pt">
<fo:block space-before.conditionality="discard">•</fo:block>
</fo:list-item-label>
<fo:list-item-body>
<fo:block space-before.conditionality="discard"><xsl:apply-templates/></fo:block>
</fo:list-item-body>
</fo:list-item>
</xsl:template>

If I leave the fo tags in I get an error. As far as I know xsl:fo tags are used to convert to other formats such as PDF.
I need this to output an HTML document.

How should I change this code?

Hope someone can help.

Thanks,

Chris.
