I may have missed this, but I've searched the site and the manual.
Do I have to write the <?xml-stylesheet type=" " etc./> P.I. into my xml
instance document manually? Is there any button to press or scenario
setting to define that does this?
Of course I can associate the XSLT with the XML in the scenario but I want
it to put in the PI as it does for the schema.

If you are generating the XML from some other XSLT, you can use the
<xsl:processing-instruction name=""></xsl:processing-instruction> syntax
to add it, but if you are starting from XML and just want to associate
the XSLT for display (so, for example, IE can display it), you would need
to include the <?...?> in your XML document manually.
We don't have scenarios for XML documents, since they are not executable.
Scenarious are only for the XSLT, XQuery, XML/SQL and WS components.

You have misunderstood. I am asking for something trivial, just to
save a line of typing.
I want an AUTOMATIC way of adding a stylesheet PI for the current
stylesheet into an XML source file. You don't need an "XML Scenario".
Just a button on the XSLT Scenario to provide the association.
