Frank-Ralph ReiserSubject: Web Service Call: Nothing happens, even not an error message shown
Author: Frank-Ralph Reiser

Often I try out web services and fiddle with the request message
(manually) for testing purposes.

This feature of stylus studio is very helpful.

Althoug, when pressing the button "Send Request", it seems
that neither anything happens nor an error message is displayed.
I have no idea of what goes wrong.
All I do is e.g. paste a soap request from another application
(well-formed xml) or another application's log to try it out.

Is there any log file I could access or anything like that?

Thanks in advance,

Frank-Ralph Reiser

Hi Frank,

If Stylus receives an error from server (SOAP fault) the error is displayed in the Preview window.

Occasionally some underline errors are only logged in the "Output Window" (View -> Output Window).

From the behavior described it seems that Stylus didn't recognize the SOAP request as well formed XML.
Can you see the parameter values (the list control above the SOAP request) getting updated after pasting the text?

Thank You
Ivan

Yes, I'm aware of that. No problem here.

I'll watch the output window the next few times.

Hmm.
But it is definitely well formed.

What I'm trying to do is to paste a
whole SOAP request from another application's log to try it out.
