Frank PotthastSubject: HTML out of Oracle
Author: Frank Potthast

Warning: I'm no "XML-professional"

With Oracle 8.i, one can get SQL-query responses in XML. Right, just put XSLT behind
and you have a web-interface to your database.

Problem: I have been using Oracle's xml tools, including Oracle's XSLT-engine,
oracle.xml.parser.v2.oraxsl
which works fine with Oracle's example files.

Now, when I use an .xsl file made with Stylus, I always get a java.lang.NullPointerException:
Error occured while processing input.xml: null

Things work perfectly within Stylus.

The best way to resolve this problem is probably to use the same XSL engine as stylus uses.

Question: Which one is it ?
Is it Xerces from apache ?

I suspect that the oracle XML parser doesn't support unicode file.
Open the XML file with Studio, change the encoding to UTF-8 and save it.

Stylus Studio XML parser is based on Xerces
