Arun PrakashSubject: Stylus on Citrix - unable to view redirected network drives
Author: Arun Prakash

Hi,
We have an issue with Stylus Studio Ent edition installed on Citrix environment where we users' local drives are mounted as redirected drives. For some reason, Stylus doesn't show these redirected drives. Other applications on the same Citrix environment, like IE, Notepad etc, all show the network drives just fine.
We researched the forum where other users reported similar issue (see below), but per our Windows/Citrix Engineers, this solution doesn't help us.
Forums that we've read through so far:
http://www.stylusstudio.com/SSDN/default.asp?action=9&read=9852&fid=23
http://www.stylusstudio.com/SSDN/default.asp?action=9&read=9855&fid=23&FirstTopic=1&LastTopic=9999

Comments from our Windows/Citrix Engineer:
The comments about UAC are not applicable to this scenario. In this case, the redirected drives are visible in the user’s session, and they show up in other applications.

It seems the difference may have something to do with the fact that these are redirected client drives rather than a standard fixed hard disk or network drive, etc.

Hi Arun,

I did quick test on a physical machine with redirect and it worke.
What you are reporting seems specific to Citrix.

Which Stylus Studio version are you running?

We have similar issues running Studio X16 Enterprise edition. We maintain all our working folder on a network drive that has a re-direction. The Studio was able to open the files when launched by double clicking the XSL files from that network drive. This used to work for about a month. Now the same file that we could open earlier does not open and Stylus hour glass spins for about 3 minutes and we get the error report dialog box.
We are not running Citrix.
Also we have our local drive folders synchronized on OneDrive. When we launch Stylus Studio from local drive which is synchronized with OneDrive, we run into the same issue.

We are investigating and we think the problem lies on how Citrix report the computer name which prevent stylus studio to browse such location

Could you please confirm that you see "Client\" in File Explorer or the Open File dialog?

No, I do not see the Client as you show.
I should have opened a new post. Our issue is not Citrix related.

Our XSL files reside on a network drive "\\rtpXXXX02\TOXXXXX01\bXXXXXXdir3\DEEE\" mapped to a letter for ex: J.
So the XSL files are accessed from J:\\00 XYZ ABC\Working folder.
