Dana PearsonSubject: java.lang.RuntimeException: Error:

So, successfully set up Stylus Studio 10 enterprise on Win8 64 bit machine and every thing seems fine except for my stylesheets for ONIX for Books XML files that include (fairly atypical):

<!DOCTYPE ONIXmessage SYSTEM "http://www.editeur.org/onix/2.1/short/onix-international.dtd">

error message:

java.io.FileNotFoundException: http://www.editeur.org/onix/2.1/short/onix-international.dtd

at com.exln.stylus.CSaxon8Driver.doProcessing(CSaxon8Driver.java:281)
at com.exln.stylus.CProcessorDriver.process(CProcessorDriver.java:104)
Error:
java.io.FileNotFoundException: http://www.editeur.org/onix/2.1/short/onix-international.dtd

The stylesheet works fine with a library application that includes the latest version of Saxon which is how my clients use my stylesheets.

Of course no problem on my 32 bit machine.

Thanks,
Dana Pearson

Dana,

Could you zip your styleheet and the XML input document you want to process and post it here?

Thanks for the reply, Ivan..i now see the likely problem

i had not thought to try the URL myself until clicking the link to the DTD which leads to a 404 page

This version of ONIX for Books is no longer supported and they have apparently removed the DTD..interesting since ONIX 3 has not been widely adopted and then there's the legacy files of ONIX 2.1

I'm thinking since the DOCTYPE specifies the URL, the transform fails when SS cannot see the DTD.

In any case, if you'd like to see for yourself, I'll attach the 3 relevant files: the stylesheet, an external XML file (related to subject headings) and the ONIX XML file.

I think I got it zipped properly.

thanks,
Dana Pearson

Yep the document cannot be parsed because the DTD is not there.

It seem that they archived 2.1 here
http://www.editeur.org/files/ONIX%202.1/ONIX_2.1_local_DTD_and_XSD_files.zip

You can get the DTD locally then change the reference in the XML document

Hope this helps
