Subject:
Dot "." vs. self::node()
Author:
Kim Ford

I found that my XSL transform wasn't working in a browser.
In checking I found that this line was the problem.
<xsl:for-each select="$invoice_rec/.[count(.|key('lineitems-group', prodCode)[1])=1]">
Apparently, there is a problem with using . in the above text. After some Googling and some trial and error, I edited the line to be the below, replacing the . with self::node():
<xsl:for-each select="$invoice_rec/self::node()[count(.|key('lineitems-group', prodCode)[1])=1]">
Question: why would Stylus Studio use the "." when it doesn't work in a browser?
Thanks,
Kim

Hi Kim,
It looks like this is a bug according to:
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/xml/2009-January/msg00036.html
"A predicate may not follow an abbreviated step"
Apparently it is a loophole in the specification.
Which version of Stylus Studio are you using?
Regards,
Rory
