In August of 2005 there was a posting called "Support for UK EDI Tradacoms". I tried the process outlined there by Tony Lavinio
and it was a failure for a number of reasons.
1. The use of '=','+' as separators did not work.
2. When I used just the '+', the segment name is in a field instead of the row name.
3. The file uses "'<CR><LF>" for a segment terminator. I could not get the GUI converter builder to recognize the apostrophe as a part of the segment terminator.
I built a SEF file and tried to use that as an extension file in the EDI converter with all validation turned off, but I got the error:
Unable to open d:\Program Files\Stylus Studio 2008 XML Enterprise Suite Release 2\Components\XML Converters for Java\lib\TRADACOMS.pds"
Have you got a suggestion for dealing with these type of EDI files? I am attaching a sample of the transaction.
