You can upgrade for free your existing 6 release 2 version to the latest minor build, available from http://www.stylusstudio.com/update/pro-60.html; that installation will just update your existing binaries and won't affect your license.
If you install 6 release 3, as you did, then you can evaluate the product free for 14 days, and you will need to purchase a new license (as an upgrade from 6 release 2) if you want to keep using it after the trial period.

I just discovered Stylus Studio yesterday - my company has many XML Spy licenses, and when I showed Stylus Studio to some of our Java developers, their immediate comment was "Is there a plugin for Eclipse?"
They are all using Altova's plugin, and we've standardized on Eclipse for all of our java development. Without a plugin, I may be purchasing a few Stylus Studio licenses. With a plugin, that number could go up to 15 or more.

Yes. Having Stylus Studio being available as an Eclipse plugin is inevitable.

So... any more on this? Are there any plans to provide an eclipse plugin (or is there one available since the last post)? This will be the deciding factor for whether my company decides to go with Stylus Studio or Altova Map Force.

Is their any other way we can embed the UI in our application, more interested in the Mapping (XLST) editor UI and XSLT generation mechanism that Stylus has. Does Stylus have a COM/ActiveX interface which we can access from a Java app using a Java 2 COM bridge?

Stylus Studio's UI sub-components are not available for being embedded in other application. You can't embed the Stylus Studio application inside another application, and the only control you have on the Stylus Studio UI (other than through the UI itself) is through its command line options.
