stanley armstrongSubject: Option Declaration Using Saxon
Author: stanley armstrong

Hi,
I am using the stylus studio enterprise edition 2008 to generate a mapping betwen 2 xml files and then generate java code from the xquery using the saxon processor.Everything works well, except when i try to add the following it does not show the added doctype declaration
declare namespace saxon ="http://saxon.sf.net/";
declare option saxon:output "doctype-system = blah.dtd";
when the new xml is generated i do not see a <!DOCTYPE "blah..> declaration add :-(
I was wondering if anyone could help me out.

Stanley

Hi Stanley,
when Stylus previews the XQuery using Saxon, it doesn't rely on the Saxon serializer, so the option is ignored. If you need to run the serializer you can generate the Java code for the XQuery, and run it.

Hope this helps,
Alberto
