We are evaluating Stylus Studio as a potential standard tool at our shop.

If we decide to move forward, we will need to disable the automatic check for new versions/betas. I do not see an option to disable this in the 3.1 build 066 (with excelon banner ad the bottom) version I am evaluating.

If we purchase copies,
1. Is this feature still present?
2. If so, can it be disabled?

We need to prevent a maintenance and support nightmare of multiple machines with differing versions.

Yes.

Yes, even if in an un-documented/un-GUI way in the current version (it will
be exposed in Tools|Options in one of the next public builds).
You need to set the DWORD value "Option: AutomaticNewVersionCheck" to 0 in
this registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\eXcelon Corporation\Stylus Studio\Settings
