Subject: XQuery Results export to multiple files Author: martie odendaal Date: 03 Nov 2009 11:52 PM

Hi everyone
I've had a huge amount of fun playing with this product over the past 2 days. My XML is a little rusty at the moment and this has been my first exposure to XQuery, so my question might seem a little silly, but here goes.
I have a database full of data originally derived from hundreds of Infopath forms, saved as XML. Due to a hardware catastrophy, the original XML-based forms have now been lost and I am trying to reconstruct the forms by using the data from this separate database backup.
I have figured out how to pull the data from the various db tables, but now I am left with a number of other challenges:
1. I can't figure out how to reconstruct the original XML references, headers, etc. so that the form can be opened in InfoPath. Is there a simple way to do this?
2. The generated data needs to be saved in separate XML files, one per InfoPath form. In other words, if I have 100 forms' worth of data in the DB, I need to be able to save my extracted data into 100 separate files instead of one big one. How do I set up Stylus Studio to do this? I'm hoping there's some kind of scripting solution for this.
3. Also, if I can script a "multiple file" kind of scenario, how do I control the file name and destination folder?
I would REALLY appreciate your help. I only have one day left to evaluate the software for my superiors and if this behaviour can't be controlled somehow, then I have to start looking for a new solution all over again. The data recovery situation is a huge priority right now, so there's quite a lot of pressure to get this done right the first time.
Thanks a mil. I'll be waiting to hear from you.
