Couldn't we just have a new attribute instead of a whole new tag? IE;

	<xsl:apply-templates regexp-select-string="text()"/>

(if that's even needed) and:

	<xsl:template regexp-match="\sqrt{....}">

It's just another way of matching templates, not a whole new concept???
