If you are looking for an XML language which provides
rule-based checking that an XML file is consistent with
some constraints detectable in another XML file, and which
has been designed with a view to allowing distributed agents,
check out consistencyChecker from consistencycheck.com

It is quite similar to Schematron, but is more powerful
at the area of distributed-document consistency checking and a
different expression language.
