Len, You miss the point ... and it is a very important point ... that there has been and continues to be a failure to communicate what the XML family is and does. John Dvorak's factual errors don't discredit him as far as his conclusion is concerned. They demonstrate that his conclusion is true ... that the XML family is becoming increasingly complex and, for many, incomprehensible ... which John Dvorak's errors of understanding so starkly demonstrate. That same failure of comprehension, in my opinion, characterises a significant proportion of the "web developer in the street". The more strategic question is to understand how the failure to communicate XML came about and what needs to be done to remedy what is potentially a very serious situation. Andrew Watt
