Would OASIS consider a policy whereby 
for SAX and other sepcification developed 
originally in the open, they remain that.  
IOW, there is no requirement to become 
a member to contribute or have access 
if the original owners state that 
explicitly?  Sort of like the provisions 
in a will...

Perhaps someone can ask Laura about this? 

Please note, I'm not against the W3C, IETF, ISO 
etc., just seeking information about what 
the best deal could be.  The W3C looks a 
little overwhelmed from here and expensive.
SAX does merit first class membership alongside 
DOM.  Frankly, I can no longer imagine 
a practical system in which I don't need both.

$250/year for individual membership, $2500 for small company.

I haven't yet found a good reason to fork over $250, but it's not outside
the realm of possibility. (Neither are any of the other groups, but I'd
rather not have to pay to participate on SAX, currently an open project.)
