Subject:Pass new param values to ASP Object Author:Domenico Imbesi Date:04 Aug 2009 03:52 AM
I have to check if an xml file exists ON MY SERVER before loading it into an XSLT stylesheet.
I use an ASP Object to do it. I have two files:
Request.asp
Info.xsl
I load in request.asp an empty parameter and pass it to info.xsl, inside info.xsl I load the value of the parameter i.e. the xml file name and pass it to the asp object. Problem is the parameter I pass is null.
This is how I do it
FROM info.xsl
I load the new parameter value:
<xsl:call-template name="fileno">
<xsl:with-param name="myfile" select="$serviceid"/>
</xsl:call-template>
I check if the new file number appears inside info.xsl and i does correctly:
<xsl:value-of select="$myfile"/>
I check if the ASP Object works and receives the myfile param value:
<xsl:value-of select="xasp:GetRequestVariable($myfile)"/>
This is the ASP Object contained inside request.asp:
<% Class ASPObjects
Public Function GetRequestVariable(Key)
dim fileno
dim document
fileno=Key
'document file name really exists on server and is always true
document="http://www.imbesiviaggi.it/XML/9994.xml"
xmlhttp.Open "GET", document,false
xmlhttp.Send()
xmlDesc.load xmlhttp.responseXML
success = xmlDesc.load (xmlhttp.responseXML)
if success then
GetRequestVariable = fileno
else
GetRequestVariable = "False"
end if
End Function
End Class %>
I always get and empty value as fileno. If I initialize the myfile param inside the calling request.asp I always get the same initialized value.
How can I pass the changed myfile value from info.xsl to request.asp ASP Object?.
I really hope you can help me as I do not really find a solution.
