Subject: Can't connect to an Access DB on my Network or my iSeries *UPDATED* Author: Vincent Visconti Date: 08 Jan 2009 11:55 AM Originally Posted: 07 Jan 2009 10:26 PM

Hello,
I'm running Stylus Studio Version 6 Professional Edition. I;m trying to connect to an Access DB that is located on a network drive via DataDirect SequeLink. I get the following error message when I create a new DB to XML object:
[StylusStudio][SequeLink JDBC Driver][ODBC Socket][Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] '(unknown)' is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides.
However, I copied the Access DB from my network to my C drive and modified the ODBC DSN to point to the local DB, it connected without any problems.
Any idea why this is happening?
Also, I'm trying to connect to an iSeries DB via ODBC connection and SequeLink and when I try to connect, StylusStudio just hangs and becomes non responsive.
-UPDATE-
I downloaded DataDirect's Connect for ODBC thinking it may be the ODBC driver that I'm using which may be causing the problem. Well, I'm able to establish a connection to my iSeries using the new driver when I'm configuring it during the ODBC setup. However, when I try to connect in Stylus Studio, I get an error message stating my user name or password are invalid. I never get prompted to enter my password as I do when I am setting up the ODBC connection, so now I'm thinking I need to store my iSeries username and password, but I don't see where I can do that when I am configuring the connection.
PLEASE HELP ME.
Thank you,
Vincent
