Which Stylus Studio version and edition are you running?
Stylus Studio Enterprise bundles Saxon SA and you can invoke it from the XML editor. If you desire to run the validation outside Stylus Studio you will need to acquire a separate license from Saxonica http://www.saxonica.com/erol/erol.html

I'am using Stylus Studio 2008 XML Suite Release 2.
Yes I know I can use Saxon SA for validation, but I want to do it with the xsdversion="1.1" argument at the command line but from inside Stylus Studio.
This ought to be possible with the Custom Validation Engines dialog box, "Tools/Options/Custom Validation Engines", except that I can't figure out how to do it.

The interface to Saxon SA in 2008r2 will not support the xsd=1.1
option. The Saxon SA is bound to the internals of Stylus Studio
to support debugging and profiling, and it cannot be run even as
an external processor under the bundled license.
