Hi,

I'm using Stylus Studio Professional 2007 build 735f.

When I validate the attached instance test.xml against the schema test.xsd, Stylus Studio reports:

file:///.../test.xsd:12,36: The type 'xs:anyType' specified as the base in the simpleContent element must not have complexContent

Is this a Stylus Studio bug or a schema defect?

Both schema and instance validate in Xerces 2.9 (with schema-full-checking), with MSXML 4.0 and 6.0 and with Alphaworks' SchemaQualityChecker.

(I know I can workaround by changing the schema modeling. This issue came up with a a generated schema.)

Hi Jay,
it looks like an error in the Xerces-C++ schema validator; you should
select a different validator (e.g. Xerces-J) when working with such a schema.

thanks. Can you tell me which version of Xerces-C++ you bundle with build 735f so I can file a bug report with Apache?

Hi Jay,
it's basically version 2.7, plus the bug fixes that have been
committed to the SVN repository since the release.
