Kelly StirmanSubject: SS crashes when trying to save new document
Author: Kelly Stirman

Using Enterprise Edition build 501j on XP.

Been using SS for about 18 months for XQuery development.

When I click New -> XQuery File

Then type:

"hello world"

Then click Save

SS crashes with no error. Only thing in the log is "ACCESS_VIOLATION".

Same thing if I click Open.
Same thing if I click Help -> About Stylus Studio.

However, I can browse and save using File Explorer, but cannot create any new files.

From the log file, it looks like Stylus Studio is loading a mix of JVM 1.4 and 1.5 libraries.

Can you try choosing Tools > Options > Java Virtual Machine, and then clicking Auto Detect? That should refresh the JVM settings in the application.

That did the trick - thanks for the speedy response.
