Subject: SS5.0-127b: Crash from XSLT tab to WYSIWYG tag Author: J Roberts Date: 19 Aug 2003 11:13 AM

I have three issues with SS 5.0 build
127b, for which I have no solution:
- CRASH: When working in a .XSL file under the
XSLT Source tab, the program crashes after I make a change to the
code and I switch to the WYSIWYG tab. The program hangs in the
transition from one tabbed screen to then next, and continually accesses the
hard drive (HD LED stays lit, and there is active seeking/reading/writing
taking place). This happened four times, twice after a fresh reboot of
the system. THEORY: My files are on a Win2000proSP4 remote shared
folder, when the host folder is not synchronized to the changes I am making in
the shared folder. I will try it on a fixed folder too, but this is only
my guess as to what I might be doing wrong. The first time it crashed,
it gave me a report to fill-out and email to Sonic, but our mail server was
down, so I could not send it. Subsequent crashes never stopped crashing,
i.e., the HD whirred and the screen never finished redrawing itself.
These required Task Manager to stop the non-responding application.
- MOVING HTML: When working in a .XSL file,
when I move back and forth from the XSLT Source tab and the WYSIWYG tab (if
issue "1" does not occur), the formatting of the code often changes
position. That is, some XSL and HTML elements migrate south to the end
of the document. I have noticed many times that the code I typed in
there, or dragged to the page, was gone; only to discover that it had moved to
the bottom of the page.
- INCORRECT HTML: In situations as in issue
"2" above, some of the actual formatting changes. having happened about
six times, the <font> and </font> tags have simply
disappeared. So, in addition to moving on the page, the face, size,
and color attributes of <font> are lost with the disappearing tags
(making me have to reformat everything).
I love the software, aside from these points.
But these points are very time consuming, and the crash cannot happen for my
needs. Is there anything anyone might know about these issues that I could
do to circumvent them?
Thank you,
J. Roberts

Hi, robert
Can you send your xsl+xml file to us so that we can take a look into it.
Also, when you switch back and forth between xslt and wysiwyg tab, did you
make changes(edit, drag&drop..) in wysiwyg mode before you switch back to
source tab.
we are awared of some reformating issue originated in IE control which our
WYSIWYG is based on, but we need your testcase to dignose what exactly the
problem is.
thank you.
song.
