Stylus allows me to select the encoding I want my XML saved as. If I save it with one of the UTF-32 encodings it does save the file with that encoding. However if I open that file with Stylus it cannot read it properly, that is it just displays little boxes or question marks. This happens for some of the other encodings too, for example the ebcdic encodings.
What encodings can Stylus read? Is it supposed to be able to read all of the encodings it can generate?

Dan,
this is indeed a problem in the current Stylus Studio version; Stylus Studio should be able to read UTF-32 encoded XML files without any problem, but we can see the problem you are hitting.
An update to this issue will be available soon; if this is an urgent problem for you, please contact us at stylus-field-report@progress.com with details about the Stylus Studio version you are running. The problem is specific to UTF-32 encoding.
